On 1st April, Ni no Kuni Official Twitter tweeted that Ni no Kuni : Cross Worlds will land on global early summer this year. I just hope that it is not some April’s fool prank. This mobile MMORPG developed by Netmarble and published by Level-5 for Android and iOS has released the game  in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan back in June 2021 has been well received by the audiences.

The amazing-looking animation using Unreal Engine 4 was handled by Studio Ghibli. If you’re not familiar with Studio Ghibli, they are best known for its animated feature films such as My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away. Ni no Kuni : Cross Worlds game music also will be under the care of Joe Hisaishi who worked on many projects together with Hayao Miyazaki, co-founder of Studio Ghibli.

Most of you may know that Netmarble is an expert when it comes to MMORPG which reminds me that the company is also expert at creating a Gacha System. There’s no doubt this free-to-play MMORPG will be imbued with the Gacha Element on it and I can start imagine lot of UI that will keep us busy like Crafting, Raid, PvP (Gacha whale will be very welcome) or even some mini-games like fishing and farming. I can’t really tell the combat / gameplay from the trailer but we expect it to be some anime fantasy, cute enemies and a vast world waiting for us to discover.

But as a casual gamer, what is important to me is the storyline and the art since it comes from Studio Ghibli. I’m also a free-to-play player who also hopes this game can give us a fair game even though some items are always better behind the paywall. Anyway, let’s wait for further updates from the team.
