To all the Valkyrie Profile fans, you may rejoice as Square Enix officially just released the trailer of Valkyrie Elysium and confirmed the release date. PlayStation Store & Steam also opened up the page to let us pre-order the game.
PlayStations 1 and 2 dominated my childhood. When Square Enix released the trailer, it was magnificent. There have been many praises for Valkyrie Profile back in 1999, including the soundtrack composed by Motoi Sakuraba, who will also return to contribute to Valkyrie Elysium. The first two-series battle system is turn-based. Each of the Four party members will be assigned to one of the four buttons on the PlayStation controller, giving us the ability to perform combos by hitting the button quickly and gaining a special attack when the bar is filled.
Valkyrie Elysium will take a new approach in terms of the battle system. Players will engage in fast-paced combat and perform flashy combo moves. While I am not certainly sure, players will have to summon the Einherjar manually to fight alongside Valkyrie. For the story-wise, through a unique world inspired by Norse mythology. The All-Father Odin entrusted you “Lenneth” Valkyrie, descending to the land and recruiting the Einherjar – warriors who’ll join the hero and fight at her side when summoned. There will be one purpose to everything, The Ragnarok.
Valkyrie Elysium will be released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on 29th September 2022, followed by Steam on 11th November 2022.
